The PA Conference of Teamsters is comprised of Local Unions affiliated with Joint Council 40 and Joint Council 53; collectively over 95,000 Teamsters strong.

On Thursday, March 6th, the Senate will vote to confirm Lori Chavez-DeRemer as Secretary of Labor. Nearly all Senate Republicans have indicated that they will support this nomination. However, despite her strong labor record and overwhelming public support from working people and the Labor community, we expect significant opposition from Senate Democrats.

“As the daughter of a Teamster, Lori Chavez-DeRemer knows the importance of carrying a union card and what it means to grow up in a middle-class household,” said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien. “Working people need someone with her experience leading the agency tasked with protecting workers, creating good union jobs, and rebuilding our nation’s middle class. The Teamsters thank President Trump for putting American workers first by nominating Rep. Chavez-DeRemer to this important role.”

Your Senator needs to hear from you. Tell your Democratic Senator to put working people over politics, work across the aisle, and confirm Rep. Chavez-DeRemer with bipartisan support. Follow the link below to send a message to your senator:

Local 776 prayers and condolences go out to all those affected by the tragic violence that occurred at the UPMC Hospital in York this morning.
