Local 776 organizer Mark Cicak has been busy this year organizing across the Local's jurisdiction. Below are a listing of the Local's recent organizing victories. Check back later as Mark has quite a few groups that he is working with who wish to become members of the Teamsters.
Newville Police Department
- On February 25, 2016, the Teamsters demanded recognition from the Newville Borough on behalf of the Newville Police Department. The Borough chose to recognize the Teamsters as the sole collective bargaining agent for the police department. On May 24, 2016, the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board certified Local 776 as the representative of the Newville Police Department.
West York Borough Highway Department
- On April 20, 2016, the Teamsters demanded recognition from the West York Borough on behalf of the West York Borough Highway Department. The borough elected to recognize the Teamsters as the sole collective bargaining agent for the highway department. On May 4, 2016, the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board certified Teamsters Local 776 as the representative for the West York Borough Highway Department.
Ryder Integrated Logistics
-On June 24, 2016, Teamsters Local 776 demanded recognition from Ryder Integrated Logistics on behalf of the Ryder drivers that deliver for Metals USA. Ryder Integrated Logistics denied the Unions request and choose to take their chances with an election. On July 20, 2016, the National Labor Relations Board held an election where all of the eligible employees voted and an overwhelming number of Ryder employees voted YES for Teamsters Local 776 to be their collective bargaining agent. On July 29, 2016, the National Labor Relations Board certified Local 776 as the representative for the Ryder Integrated Logistics employees.
