  • The Retirees Club meeting is coming up this Wednesday, December 17th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Camp Hill Union Hall. The meeting will have no speakers and will serve as our Holiday celebration. Come on out and wish everyone a Merry Christmas!

We had a full house yesterday, and we weren't playing cards! Local 776 held its Children's Christmas Party on Saturday, December 13th. The Union Hall was crowded throughout the party as Members and their families gathered for hot dogs, snacks, the famous Smiley Family homemade cookies, and a chance to meet Santa! Judging from the squeals of delight and the big smiles, the party was a success!

"It's great to see the Union Hall alive with the Christmas Spirit, the kids' exhibit! As I've often said, these kids are our future, so let's do everything possible to support them, added Local 776 President Ed Thompson."

Additional photos from the party are available in the "Photo Gallery." Do you have pictures you would like to share? If so, email them to info@teamsterslocal776.org and we'll display them on the website.

It was a packed house all day!

    All smiles for this family!

    Keep the cookie plates full!

    A smile for Santa!

Even the big kids got a chance to visit with Santa!

From Everyone at Teamsters Local 776, Merry Christmas!

Unfortunately, payroll errors are a common occurrence for Teamster members at UPS, particularly if you work different jobs with different pay rates. Starting January 1, 2026, the penalty for UPS's failure to correct its mistakes promptly increases for both full-time and part-time employees. Below are the details:

Follow the link below to be directed to the UPS Teamsters Payroll Calculator to keep track of your hours:

If you work an additional shift or job on any given day, click the "Add Shift" button at the bottom of the page and enter the information for the particular job or shift you also worked on that day.

    It Pays to Pay Attention!

Are you coming to the Children's Christmas Party on Saturday? Great! We look forward to welcoming as many people as possible to the Union Hall and spending part of their holiday with us.

Our photographer will be on hand to capture the smiling faces of everyone enjoying themselves. If you're also taking pictures, why not share them with other Local 776 members? E-mail your photos to:

     info@teamsterslocal776.org.

We'll post all photos we receive from Members on the Local website's "Photo Gallery" page. Take plenty of pictures of your kids with Santa, you with Santa, or you with your Business Agent! See you at the party!

    Everyone's a kid at Christmas!

Local 776 Members at the York County Prison Maintenance Department are participating in their 5th annual Toys for Tots collection drive. During this drive, they strive to work together to support our local radio station, 96.1 SOX TOY CHALLENGE, 2025.

Todd Fritz will park his 5-ton Army truck in hopes of filling the truck with toys for our local kids! The truck will be in the administrative parking area in front of the prison from Monday, December 1, 2025, to December 6, 2025. The truck will be moved to the old INS Court parking lot (rear) of the prison from December 7 to December 11. Toys collected will be delivered on December 12 to Santa D on the Route 462 Bridge.

Donations of new toys in original packaging will be accepted. Toys must be new and unwrapped. The high demand every year is for toys/gifts for those in the pre-teen age bracket (ages 9 to 12, both boys and girls), as well as for infants to 2 years old; donations for any age up to 12 years old are appreciated. If any other county department wishes to collect and add to our donation, they can be dropped off at the prison.

Local 776 began its Season of Caring, Season of Sharing, by supporting Todd's endeavor with a donation of toys to help fill the truck.

Since its creation, the Toy Challenge on the Bridge has collected almost 74,000 new toys and over $130,000 for the York and Lancaster County U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.

Adorned for the Christmas Season, Todd's truck will soon be filled with Christmas Joy!

On behalf of the Officers, Agents, Staff, and myself, I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving. More people travel for Thanksgiving than for any other U.S. holiday. If you are traveling to gather with family and friends during the holiday, please be safe.

We all have so much to be thankful for. Please find a place in your heart for those less fortunate than us, and help them in any way you can. When enjoying your holiday dinner, remember the hungry, when enjoying good health; remember the sick, when with family and friends, remember the lonely, and lastly, remember our military personnel, many of whom are away from their families and loved ones protecting the rights and liberties that we cherish in our great country.

    Fraternally,

    Ed Thompson,

    President, Teamsters Local 776

It's getting to be that time of the year; the weather is getting colder, the days shorter, and Christmas Carols can be heard everywhere! So let's have a Christmas Party! The Local 776 Children's Christmas Party will take place on December 13, 2025.

The party will be held in the Union Hall, not a drive-thru! Come on out for a day of food, fun, fellowship, and Santa! Full details can be found below:

On behalf of everyone at Local 776, I would like to extend my wishes to all Veterans a Happy Veterans Day! Thank you for your service! Because of your devoted service and unwavering loyalty to our grand country, we remain the home of the free. If you know a Veteran, reach out to him or her and thank them. If you notice a gathering on Veterans Day, show your appreciation with a thank you.

This day is dedicated to honoring veterans, but please take a moment to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in defending our rights and liberties. Also keep in your prayers our military men and women deployed around the world, far from home and their loved ones, as they maintain what others served so valiantly for.

    Fraternally,

    Ed Thompson,

    President, Teamsters Local 776

Workers at the Green Thumb Industries (GTI) subsidiary Rise Dispensary have ratified their first Teamsters contract after a 45-day strike — the longest successful work stoppage in the history of the U.S. cannabis industry.

“This is a monumental achievement, and it’s entirely due to the grit and bravery of our members,” said Ed Thompson, President of Teamsters Local 776. “By winning this strike, these men and women have set the stage for thousands of other cannabis workers to join our cause.”

“This is a perfect example of how Teamsters contracts can bring long-term prosperity to workers throughout this industry,” said Jesse Case, Director of the Teamsters Food Processing Division. “By raising the bar at multi-state operators nationwide, our union benefits workers, consumers, and proprietors in cannabis.”

The new collective bargaining agreement includes many significant improvements, including paid holidays and bereavement leave, annual wage increases, and a fair process for disciplinary matters. By winning the strike, Local 776 members broke a record previously set by GTI Teamsters in Illinois two years ago.

“The outpouring of support we received from customers, the community, and our union brothers and sisters embodies what solidarity is all about,” said John Stambaugh, a patient care specialist. “Rank-and-file Cannabis Teamsters like us are leading the way toward a brighter future.”
