The York-Adams County Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, conducted their annual fishing derby on Labor Day at Kiwanis Lake in York, PA. Former Local 776 Business Agent Dave Wolf, now retired, came out of retirement to attend the event on behalf of Local 776.
Dave reports on the event: “This year we had a good turnout with registration and fishing starting at 8:00 a.m. Prizes were given for ages 1 through 8 and 9 through 15. The largest fish caught was 26 inches. Prizes were also given to those who caught the most fish, etc. Afterward, all the age groups that participated received a new fishing rod and reel donated by Teamsters Local 776. Special thanks to Local 776 for supplying cold water and of course the new fishing rods that put a smile on all the participant's faces."
Commented Local 776 President Ed Thompson; “I would like to thank Dave for taking the time from retirement to represent the Local at this community event. His actions are the embodiment of the phrase we so proudly support “People Helping People” Additionally I would like to thank Local 776 BA Bill Olmeda for taking the time to to purchase the new fishing rod and reel combos that were presented to the kids.
Big smiles to go with their new equipment!
They're proud of their trophies!
His smile is almost as big as the fish he caught!
