  • TForce Freight Week of Action
    Updated On: Jul 09, 2023

Teamsters at TForce Freight are holding actions throughout the week as they enter the homestretch of negotiations for a new national contract. At TForce terminals in every region of the country, rank-and-file members are building a powerful worker movement to address the top bargaining issues and chart a new course for the entire freight industry.

“Every local with members at TForce have been working hard to encourage engagement,” said John A. Murphy, Teamsters National Freight Director. “Our members are standing together to win a strong national contract. The company knows what they’re up against. Our unity is on full display."

Local 776 Officers, Business Agents, and our Organizer were at TForce Freight supporting the members as they came and went throughout the day. The Member's message was clear; they stand united in their fight for a new agreement that reflects their value!

Since March, the Teamsters National Freight Industry Negotiating Committee (TNFINC) has been working hard to bargain a new contract. On June 16, Teamsters at TForce Freight voted overwhelmingly, by 91 percent, to authorize a strike, delivering a strong mandate that reflects the strength and unity of the members’ fight for a strong national contract.

The current agreement expires July 31. The Teamsters represent more than 7,000 workers at TForce nationwide.

“Teamsters at TForce Freight know what it takes to win at the table. They have spoken loud and clear that they are ready to take on this company if they don’t get the best agreement possible,” said Teamsters General President Sean M. O’Brien. “Our members are the backbone of this company and essential to keeping the nation’s supply chain moving. They deserve to be rewarded with a contract that reflects their value.”

The Teamsters are commitment to raising the bar for all workers in the freight industry. On June 15, Teamster local union leaders endorsed a new tentative agreement at ABF Freight for more than 8,500 members. Freight Teamsters are committed to continuing the winning streak next month at TForce.

“In our latest bargaining session, we saw a lot of promising developments with the resolution of key issues and productive exchanges of proposals,” said Kris Taylor, Co-Chair of TNFINC at TForce Freight. “We are working hard and making progress towards reaching a comprehensive agreement that addresses the concerns and priorities of all Teamsters at TForce Freight.”

Negotiations will resume June 26 in Ft. Worth, Texas.
