    • Following round-the-clock negotiations with Jack Cooper and one of its lenders during the week of July 29, the Teamsters National Auto Transporters Industry Negotiating Committee (TNATINC) has received a Last, Best and Final Offer (LBFO) in the form of a Restructuring Term Sheet to save more than 2,200 Teamster jobs at the company.

    • In July 2011, the plan to restructure YRC Worldwide Inc. (YRCW) aimed at saving more than 25,000 Teamster freight jobs was successfully completed. The restructuring has saved good Teamster freight jobs. This page is dedicated to providing our YRCW members updates about developments that affect them.

    • We, the EMTs, paramedics and dispatchers at Abbott Ambulance, owned by American Medical Response, Inc. (AMR), are forming our union so that we can negotiate a legally binding contract that provides our rights and guarantees in writing. Firefighters have their union and their collective bargaining agreement, and we deserve this same security for ourselves and for our families.

      Once we form our union with Teamsters Local 610, we can negotiate a contract and fight for the issues that matter to us:

      • Fair pay;
      • Affordable and quality health insurance;
      • More paid vacation;
      • Set schedules, and
      • A strong voice at work.

      The only way to win a more secure future as Teamsters is to vote Teamsters YES! and negotiate a legally binding contract. In addition to the firefighters, the EMTs, paramedics and dispatchers at Medic One in St. Louis have a contract with their rights and protections spelled out. The Medic One workers are Teamsters!

    Local 776 Organizer Mark Cicak has been hard at work growing Teamster Power. Local 776 recently welcomed the following new members to the Teamsters:

    West Manchester Township Public Works Department

    On January 23, 2017, Local 776 filed a petition for representation on behalf of the WMT Public Works Department.  The Township denied the request of the Union to recognize Local 776 as the exclusive bargaining agent and the Pennsylvania Labor Board conducted an election on April 12, 2017.  All of the eligible employees voted in the secret ballot election with a strong majority of employees voting YES in favor of Teamsters Local 776.  On April 24, 2017, the Pennsylvania Labor Board certified Teamsters Local 776 as the exclusive representative of the West Manchester Township Public Works Department. 

    Durham

    Over the course of the last year, Local 776 has been in talks with the Central Dauphin Bus Drivers Association about affiliating with the Teamsters.  In February 2017, the Local attended the CDBDA meeting to discuss with their membership the possibility of affiliating.  On April 20, 2017, the association conducted a secret ballot vote for affiliation with Teamsters Local 776 which concluded with an overwhelmingly strong vote in favor of affiliation.  Local 776 is proud to welcome the approximately 115 school bus drivers into the Teamsters Union.

    Krapf

    Krapf Bus took over the contract for First Student servicing the Harrisburg School District.  Krapf would not recognize the Teamsters as the representative of the employees.  The Local filed labor charges against the bus company which resulted in the Krapf recognizing Teamsters Local 776 as the exclusive representative of the Krapf employees.

    Cumberland Township Public Works

    On November 21, 2016, Local 776 filed a petition for representation on behalf of the Cumberland Township Public Works employees.  The Township denied the Locals petition and an election was held on July 20, 2017.  All eligible employees voted and 100% percent of votes cast were YES for Teamsters Local 776 representation.  On July 31, 2017, the Pennsylvania Labor Board certified Local 776 as the sole representative of the employees of the Cumberland Township Public Works department.
