On June 30, 2025, Local 776 President Edgar Thompson, Business Agent Spencer Dearth, and Thomas Doyle, State Program Director of the IBT, met with Pennsylvania State Representatives at the State Capitol Building to discuss issues affecting both Local 776 members and general Union issues. In attendance were Representatives Dave Delloso, Patrick Harkins, Steve Malagari, Dan Williams, Jim Haddock, and Dan Goughnour, A few of the topics discussed included impact of autonomous trucks on Union jobs and public safety, ongoing heat-related issues at UPS, and a recent workplace incident at York County Prison, which affected Local 776 members and remains under investigation. Thanks to the strength of the Local’s DRIVE Chapter and its contributing Members, access to these State Representatives was granted to address these issues and for the overall betterment of our members and the Labor movement.
