  • Local 776 Retirements
    Updated On: Sep 30, 2026

Recently, three Members decided to take the plunge into the next chapter of their lives: retirement! Combined, these individuals have over 102 years of service working at UPS. UPS Business Agent Dave Licht was busy last week handing out the Local 776 hardware to these members.  Let's meet these new retirees:

Steve Longenecker retired from UPS after 39.5 years of service. Steve started in 1987 as a part-time employee in the car wash operation and worked there for two years. Next, he moved to package car, where he spent 24 years behind the wheel of the big brown truck. Steve then moved to feeders, where he spent 13 ½ years leading up to his retirement. During this time behind the wheel, Steve accumulated 31 years of safe driving and was inducted into the UPS Circle of Honor in 2020. While he was at UPS, Steve had a "unique" second job: He was the team mascot for the Hershey Bears Hockey team from 2002-2012. During that time, he received three Calder Cup Championship Rings as a team member.

Steve and his wife Martha will celebrate their 36th wedding anniversary in October. They have a daughter, Emily, who is due to deliver their first grandchild very soon. Steve retired at just the right time to help with diaper duty! Martha is still working, but once she retires, they want to travel overseas. Until then, Steve has a few toys to keep him busy; he enjoys riding his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. He has a Shelby Mustang, and when he and Martha travel, they have a 5th-wheel travel trailer to go in style!

Looking back on his time at UPS, Steve added: "I enjoyed my time at UPS. I worked with a great bunch of people over the years, and all that time I put in gave me a great retirement!"

Local 776 BA Dave Licht presents Steve with a retirement watch to memorialize his retirement!

Steve Migneault retired from UPS after 35 years working in the hub. Originally from Rhode Island, Steve moved to the area and began looking for a job with good pay and benefits, and he found UPS. One strong point of the job was that, as a part-time employee, he had health care insurance after 30 days. Time flew by, and Steve worked the preload shift, loading package cars for 25 years. Steve then transferred to the small sort area, where he worked the next ten years until his retirement.

Presently, Steve is slowly adjusting to retirement, having retired at a young age with a good pension; he wants to move slowly into the next chapter of his life. One option he is considering is relocating to Rhode Island. Steve's mother is still alive, and he would like to spend more time with her after being in PA for 35 years. He has a large extended family there, plenty of nieces and nephews to spend time with as he continues his retirement.

Steve added: "I was surprised to receive the retirement watch from Dave; I really wasn't expecting it when I stopped at the Union Hall to finalize my retirement. Over the years, I've appreciated everyone and what they do."

Steve proudly displays his watch after receiving it from BA Dave Licht.

Brock Biffart retired from UPS after 28 years of service. At the time of his retirement, Brock was a UPS feeder driver.

Brock's all smiles after receiving his watch from BA Dave Licht!

From everyone at Local 776, congratulations on your retirement, gentlemen. May you enjoy retirement for more years than it took to earn it!
